Ecological Footprint

Sarasota County is one of the first counties in the U.S. to measure its environmental impact. The Ecological Footprint tells us how much land it takes to provide all the resources used and the pollution produced by our community.

Sarasota County's Eco-Footprint is smaller than the U.S. average, which means that we are leading the nation in protecting our environment. However, we still have a long way to go to balance our ecological footprint and achieve true sustainability.
